Addressing Illegal Immigrants Inside the United States: A Policy Analysis

Abstract

This thesis analyzes past, current, and proposed immigration policies that address illegal immigrants living inside the United States. Although these policies were each developed under different circumstances, they all shed light on the future challenges regarding immigration control. These policies are synthesized to show what components of each will be most effective. The overall objective is to promote a comprehensive strategy that both manages illegal immigrants already inside the United States and creates a legal path for future immigrants to follow.
