Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies: FY2008 Appropriations

Abstract

The House introduced its version of the FY2008 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, H.R. 2642, on June 11, 2007. House action on the bill is scheduled for June 13. The Senate subcommittee and committee markup on its version of the bill is expected within the week. This report is a guide to one of the regular appropriations bills that Congress considers each year. It is designed to supplement the information provided by the House Military Quality of Life and Veterans Affairs and Senate Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittees. It summarizes the status of the bill, its scope, major issues, funding levels, and related congressional activity, and is updated as events warrant.
