The Implementation and Demonstration of Flame Detection and Wireless Communications in a Consumer Appliance to Improve Fire Detection Capabilities

Abstract

This report details the development, implementation and demonstration of a toaster oven equipped with flame detection and wireless communication capabilities. The toaster oven has the capability to detect flaming fires and to wirelessly communicate an alarm to local smoke detectors reducing fire detection times and allow greater egress time.
