AMSARA: Accession Medical Standards Analysis and Research Activity. 2005 Annual Report
Abstract
The Accession Medical Standards and Research Activity (AMSARA) has completed its ninth year of providing the DoD with evidence-based evaluations of accession medical standards. Preliminary findings of the ongoing prospective multi-site field study, the Assessment of Recruit Motivation and Strength (ARMS), are presented along with descriptive statistics that AMSARA compiles annually and publishes for historical and reference value. The descriptive statistics are for applicants who enlisted in 2004. Data are collected while the recruits remain on active duty for their first year (during 2005 for this report). The data are then collated, cleaned, and analyzed during the first half of the subsequent year (2006 for this report). By convention, the annual report is dated for the last year of data on which the analyses were performed.
