Support for the 2007 Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology
Abstract
The objective of this grant was to provide partial support for the 40 Annual Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology which was successfully held in Irvine, California at The Wyndham Hotel Orange County, beginning the evening of July 25, 2007 and ending on July 28, 2007 at noon. Over 138 scientists from throughout the world attended the conference and most of these scientists presented papers on the topic of Mathematical Psychology at the conference. The conference included a symposium on Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging for studying brain mechanisms of human behavior, a symposium on Modern Monte Carlo methods for estimating parameters of complex cognitive models, and a symposium on Complex Decision Making: Problem Solving and Markov Decision Processes. The conference also featured four keynote speakers: Dr. Michael Kahana, "Associative Processes in Episodic Memory"; Dr. Wagenmakers, "Current Developments in the Modeling of Response Times and Accuracy Using the Ratcliff Diffusion Model"; Dr. Nando de Freitas, "Modern Monte Carlo"; and Dr. William Cook, "Combinatorial Optimization". Contains abstracts for papers presented.
