Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Tire Fire Extinguishing Agent

Abstract

The overall objective of the Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Tire Fire Extinguishing Agent test series is to provide enhanced fire fighting capability to warfighters. Vehicles suffering from mobility loss due to burning tires require a hand held extinguisher to put out the fire and prevent fire spread past the wheel well. The previously used agent (PKP) was not effective at preventing fire reflash after the fire was out. This report is a `quick-look' at COTS agents.
