San Antonio Creek Restoration, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California

Abstract

The Environmental Assessment (EA) addresses the potential environmental effects of restoring 0.875 mile of San Antonio Creek by remediating extensive damage to the banks and stream channel, restoring hydrologic function, enhancing stream stability, minimizing potential for further erosion, and beginning to return channel morphology to a proper functioning condition. The proposed project includes constructing in-stream rock riffle grade controls at seven sites and bioengineering bank stabilization at three sites within San Antonio Creek, between U.S. Highway 1 and the Lee Road Utility Bridge. The Final Draft EA concludes that there will be no significant environmental impacts resulting from the Proposed Action.
