AMSARA: Accession Medical Standards Analysis and Research Activity. Report of 2007 Attrition and Morbidity Data for 2006 Accessions
Abstract
The Accession Medical Standards Analysis and Research Activity (AMSARA) has completed its eleventh year of providing the DoD with evidence-based evaluations of accession medical standards. The Annual Report presents descriptive statistics that AMSARA compiles annually and publishes for historical and reference value as well as special studies. Special studies presented in this AR include case series reviews on spinal curvature, shoulder instability, and internal knee derangement, a description of the Department of Defense Medical Evaluation Review Board applicant population from 2004-2005, a study on deployment and accession medical waivers, and a description of interservice separation codes utilized among service members discharged for conditions existing prior to service. Descriptive statistics are for DoD enlisted accessions who enlisted in 2006.
