Field Emission and Particle Sensing Devices Based on Arrayed Carbon Nanotubes and Related Nanostructures for Defense Applications

Abstract

This project covered efforts to develop and test the field-emission and particle sensing devices (FED and PSD) using carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and SiC capped Si nanotips (SiNTs) arrays. Additional studies focused on tungsten nanotips. The report covers successes on all efforts, including structural characterization and tip performance.
