Diagnosing Long Running LP Models in the Army Civilian Forecasting System

Abstract

The Army Civilian Forecasting System (CIVFORS) was developed in 1987 to help align the civilian workforce with Army structure by Command. An increase in custom models has led to dramatic differences in runtime for production forecasts. Improving runtime and managing user expectations requires a greater understanding of runtime drivers.
