Maritime Domain Awareness FY08 Assessment Report

Abstract

The U.S. Navy has been given the responsibility to develop a comprehensive, worldwide Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) capability. PEO C4I has specified and assessed an initial set of systems, designated Spiral-1, to support MDS. Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (DUSN) has appointed the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) to assess the overall capabilities and needs of MDA. This document reports the progress made in developing MDA capabilities during FY08. It summarizes information from PEO C4I system tests conducted by OPTEVFOR and from information gathered by NPS.
