Assembling Components with Aspect-Oriented Modeling/Specification

Abstract

Component-Based Software Development (CBSD) offers a cost-effective means of software production with reduced time-to-market. Integration of heterogeneous components poses a non-trivial challenge in realizing this vision, which is further complicated in a distributed environment as a result of blurred functional and non-functional aspect representation and management. We propose a two-level approach, i.e., to apply aspect-oriented component modeling/specification to handle the problem.
