NCEMT 2000 Annual Report. Ensuring Navy Readiness Through Affordable Metalworking Technologies

Abstract

Achieving world-class excellence in metalworking technology: initially a goal, now a promise fulfilled. The National Center for Excellence in Metalworking Technology (NCEMT), established by the Navy Manufacturing Technology (MANTECH) Program in 1988, has lived up to the excellence specified in its name. Early in its history, the NCEMT established its reputation as the nation's premier resource for developing and disseminating affordable, advanced metalworking technologies. In 2000, following a competitive selection process, the Office of Naval Research awarded a new five-year contract to the NCEMT. This action is a strong testimony to the U.S. Navy's confidence in and satisfaction with the NCEMT, to high-caliber work responsibly managed, and to its outstanding record of accomplishment.
