Joint Rapid Acquistion Cell. Panel 7 - Complexity and Collaboration in Acquisition Organizations

Abstract

Despite existing authorities to deliver equipment / services to the warfighter, the acquisition process is still restrictive and inefficient. To meet this problem, the OSD Joint Rapid Acquisition Cell (JRAC) was established, responsible to the Secretary of Defense through Under Secretaries of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics and Comptroller. The JRAC monitors, and facilitates meeting Combatant Commanders immediate warfighting needs. The briefing discusses the organization and functioning of the JRAC.
