Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Among US Military Basic Trainees, 2005-06 Season
Abstract
Virtually all U.S. military basic trainees receive seasonal influenza vaccination. Surveillance data collected from December 2005 through March 2006 were evaluated to estimate effectiveness of the influenza vaccine at six military basic training centers throughout the United States. Vaccine effectiveness against laboratory-confirmed influenza was 92% (95% CI, 85-96%).
