The Need for AI: Intuitive User Interfaces for Mobile Augmented Reality Systems

Abstract

This position paper discussed some of the difficulties posed by developing user interfaces for mobile augmented reality systems. We argue that these are a superset of the challenges which are encountered by mobile computers which use 2D textual displays and we discuss the potential role which could be played by artificial intelligence methods.
