Testing Deterrence. An Agent-Based Modeling Approach

Abstract

Critical national foreign policy has rested upon the assumption that deterrence, particularly nuclear deterrence, is a functioning process. This briefing looks at the key assumptions of nuclear deterrence using agent based methods to determine whether stable deterrence exists within existing theoretical structures.
