Vapor-Phase Infrared Absorptivity Coefficient of Cyclohexyl Methylphosphonofluoridate

Abstract

We measured the vapor-phase absorptivity coefficient of cyclohexyl methylphosphonofluoridate (GF), a chemical warfare agent, in the mid-infrared (4000-550/cm) at a spectral resolution of 0.125/cm. The GF used in the feedstock was purified by fractional distillation and analyzed by NMR and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to verify its purity. In this report, we describe the experimental method used to acquire the individual spectra that produced the composite spectrum, summarize the statistical uncertainties in the data, and provide a comparison to similar data from another laboratory.
