Abstract

Software CMM (registered trademark) initially developed by the Software Engineering Institute (circa 1987). Characterized organizational software process capability in terms of "maturity" as evidenced by the widespread use of desirable practices. It is widely accepted by Government and Industry. Used both for evaluation and self-assessment.
