Mobility Capabilities and Requirements Study 2016 Accreditation Report. Volume 1: Summary

Abstract

The effort described in this document is part of a proof of concept application of a new set of Validation, Verification, and Accreditation (VV&A) guidelines for analytic models and simulations developed for OSD/CAPE by the Institute of Defense Analyses. In concert with CAPE and building upon extensive information available through subject matter experts and the military, a set of eight criteria were developed and applied to all mobility and logistics models used in the production of results for the Mobility Capabilities and Requirements Study 2016. The study demonstrated the viability of the guidelines and, based on their implementation, suggests that when the final elements are completed, the models and simulations should be accredited for use in this study. There is a classified Volume 2 to this paper containing supporting documentation.
