MicroRNAs in Tamoxifen Resistance of Breast Cancer

Abstract

Three tasks have been proposed in this project: 1) Examine the expression of the miRNAs identified from the microarray profiling in human primary ERalpha-positive-tamoxifen-responsive vs. ERalpha-positive TMR and ERalpha-negative TMR breast cancers as well as intrinsic ERalpha-negative tumors; 2) Verify predictive targets of the miRNAs described above and 3) Restore tamoxifen sensitivity in TMR cells by knockdown or expression of the deregulated miRNAs in breast cancer cells.
