Abstract

Motivations listed for compact high performance radiofrequency communations. Whip antennas for High Frequency communications need to contain the following: 1. Simple classic design; 2. Narrow bandwidth; 3. High visibility; 4. Needs assembly for portability. Ribcage dipole antenna: 1. Low profile; 2. Excellent performance over a ground plane; 3. Wide impedance bandwidth; 4. Uniform antenna pattern over the bandwidth; 5. Needs further development and funds.
