The Other Side of the Hill

Abstract

The following fictional monologue represents a hypothetical lecture presented by a senior Soviet military planner to the older students at the Academy of the General Staff in Moscow. Although it may be questionable that the government of the USSR would be quite so candid even with such a select group, this panorama from the Russian bell tower may be useful in providing a view of what lies on the other side of the hill.
