Termination of Lease and the Transfer of Property Back to the Landowner for the Matagorda, Texas Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Site

Abstract

The Proposed Action includes terminating the lease and returning the Matagorda Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Site to the landowner, Braman Ranches LLC., with all existing structures, utility systems, and pavements remaining in place. Under this action, all solid waste, debris, maintenance equipment, office equipment, and tools will be removed from the site. In addition, the Air Force will mow the property prior to the transfer of property. An Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the full implementation of the Proposed Action. In general, no significant impacts were identified during the evaluation of the proposed action. APPENDICES: A. Scoping Letters; B. Site Photographs; C. Hazardous Materials Inventory; D.
