Demonstration of a Coupled Watershed-Nearshore Model

Abstract

This technical note documents a research demonstration of a newly-developed watershed-nearshore computational model, which couples the parallel WAterSHed systems of one-dimensional (1-D) stream-river networks, two-dimensional (2-D) overland regimes, and three-dimensional (3-D) subsurface media (pWASH123D) model with the 2-D ADvanced CIRCulation model for oceanic, coastal, and estuarine waters (ADCIRC). This task was sponsored by the System-Wide Water Resources Program (SWWRP). It was conducted through the simulation of water flow in a simplified Biloxi Bay hydro-system.
