On a Class of Laplace Inverses Involving Doubly-Nested Square Roots and their Applications in Continuum Mechanics

Abstract

The exact inverses of a class of Laplace transforms involving doubly-nested square roots and two branch points are presented. From these results the exact solution of Stokes' first problem, a well known initial-boundary value problems (IBVP) in fluid mechanics, for a micropolar fluid is determined.
