What Category Theory Tells Us About Information Fusion

Abstract

Category theory allows information fusion to be defined properly. Key to the definition of information fusion is the notion of the output under fusion being superior in some way to the output of simple classification systems alone. The definition therefore relies upon the construction of natural transformations suitable to the researcher. This paper discusses the meaning of such constructions.
