Kosovo Operations. Joint Center for Lessons Learned. Bulletin, Volume 2, Issue 2

Abstract

In this issue of the JCLL Bulletin we learn about some of the less momentous, though no less important, aspects of the first two operations. Three articles written by USEUCOM HQs officers provide the reader with a look into the operations of the Headquarters Strategic Planning Group (SPG), the challenging construction timeline of Camp HOPE, and the conduct of the Intelligence Working Group during the EUCOM Kosovo Quick Look Symposium. Two Service lessons learned centers, the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) and the Air Force Center for Knowledge Sharing (AFCKS), also provided articles. Through CALL we find out about the role played by the Battle Command Training Program (BCTP) and Army Simulations in preparing Task Force Hawk to plan deep operations. From AFCKS we learn of deployment problems identified during ALLIED FORCE. The last article, written by one of the JCLL military analysts supporting JTF NOBLE ANVIL, talks to the deficiencies of the current joint lessons learned system and what might be done to change the system. The articles in this bulletin are intended to be thought provoking, professionally useful, and interesting to you as you plan and execute joint operations and training events.
