Environmental Health Assessment for Work Unit RM 08-03, Ammonium Perchlorate Alternatives (Ionic Liquids)

Abstract

This Environmental Health Assessment is part of an ongoing effort to assess the human health and environmental impact of items of Army materiel during the development process. The objective of this program is to reduce the environmental and human health impact of newly-developed Army end items, with concomitant reductions in overall cost, without sacrificing performance. This report addresses human health and environmental impacts of ionic liquids being investigated as potential replacements for ammonium perchlorate and hydrazine propellants.
