Strategic Guide to Natural Disaster Planning Preparedness Response and Recovery for Naval Supply Center, Oakland, California

Abstract

The specific goal of this thesis is to provide a strategic guide which can be used as a basis by the Naval Supply Center (NSC), Oakland, California to formulate a natural disaster planning, preparedness, response and recovery program. The objective of such a program is to reduce the amount of damage caused by a natural disaster, enable effective response to a disaster and facilitate recovery. The plan must be consistent with the supply center's priorities and be within budget limitations. Further, the plan must address additional areas such as supporting other defense activities and responding to taskings from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
