Abstract

The purpose of this document is to familiarise the reader on the application and use of life cycle costing for a system of interest (including individual weapon systems, system of systems, and military and business software) from an early conceptual stage in the product life cycle through to disposal. It provides illustrations on the types of life cycle cost studies that can be conducted and examples to demonstrate the benefits of conducting life cycle costing to inform the decision making process.
