Flow Control Technology

Abstract

This report summarizes work performed by Dr. Stefan Siegel at the US Air Force Academy Aeronautics Research Center. While the overall subject of the contract was research in the area of feedback flow control, this report specifically covers work done under funding from the National Science Foundation investigating Ocean Wave Energy Conversion. The particular approach involves use of a Cycloidal Turbine for wave energy conversion, which requires feedback control for successful and efficient operation.
