Fabrication of Metamaterials by Drawing Techniques

Abstract

This project researches the creation of novel and practical nanofabrication techniques for metamaterials operating at frequencies ranging from the far infrared to visible light. These techniques will make inexpensive volume production of metamaterials possible for the first time. It will do this by extending drawing, the technology used for making optical fiber, to preforms containing both metals and dielectrics.
