Prospective Investigation of Injury Rates and Injury Risk Factors Among Federal Bureau of Investigation New Agent Trainees, Quantico, Virginia, 2009-2010

Abstract

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Human Resources Division, Office of Medical Services, Health Care Programs Unit, requested the assistance of the United States Army Public Health Command (USAPHC) in injury prevention efforts at the FBI New Agent Training Program at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. An Interagency Agreement was completed for a two phase project. Phase 1 was a retrospective examination of available records to describe injury rates and physical fitness among new agent trainees and to examine relationships between fitness and injuries. Phase 2 was a more comprehensive prospective examination of injuries and injury risk factors but with fewer new agents involved.
