Globalization and the U.S. Navy: An Annotated Briefing

Abstract

The CNA Corporation was asked to study the relation between globalization and U.S. naval forces by the Chief Financial Officer of the Department of the Navy, Charles Nemfakos, in the winter of 2001. The study was to be a more specific attempt to relate naval forces in the changing world context than represented by an earlier study sponsored by the Department of the Navy and done by the Institute for National Security Studies at the National Defense University.
