Anatomical and Physiological Changes Secondary to PTSD (Podcast)

Abstract

The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) began caring for service members coping with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and psychological health in October 2010. Dedicated to delivering hope, healing, discovery and learning, the facility is both "high-tech" and "high-touch," focused on interdisciplinary, holistic and family-centered care. This month, DCoE is partnering with the NICoE to look at co-occurrences of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and TBI within patient populations, and ongoing research to better understand the relationship between these conditions. Speakers will talk about the NICoE's ground-breaking work related to the identification and understanding of the anatomical and physiological changes connected to PTSD and TBI.
