Joint Operations 2030 - Final Report (Operations interarmees 2030 - Rapport final)

Abstract

The NATO SAS-066 - Joint Operations 2030 Long-Term Scientific Study attempts to identify research and technology investment options that would advance and improve on future NATO capability needs in the 20 year or more time horizon. This report is a comprehensive documentation of this study effort including early discussions and assumptions; the development and application of a Thematic Analytical approach to capability definition; the iterative construction of a comprehensive set of Theme-Issue-Capability (TIC) combinations that resulted in the Joint Operations 2030 Capability Set; the refinement of this set into three sub-sets and subsequent focus on the JO 2030 List One Set of TICs; and efforts to identify potential research and technology investment opportunities which resulted in the JO 2030 List One Set of Technology Focus Areas.
