Security From Detection (Vehicles)

Abstract

This TOP describes the different methodologies and associated procedures that can be followed to evaluate the visual and aural detectability and characteristics of a vehicle (wheeled and tracked) to determine the limits of detectability. Methodologies such as Magnitude Estimation (ME), Method of Limits (MOL) and Method of Constant Stimuli (MCS) will be investigated and procedures described for implementing each. The procedures are limited to the assessment of vehicles detected by observers with the human eye, and can be applied to either unaided or aided by binoculars.
