Testing of IDA's CBStrike Model
Abstract
CBStrike is a modeling tool developed by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) that simulates the effects of chemical or biological attacks on specific force laydowns that may employ detection, collection, and identification systems including point, standoff, and unmanned aerial system-mounted detection capability. CBStrike has undergone testing to ensure that it is operating as intended. The testing of CBStrike involved systematically varying each CBStrike input parameter individually and comparing the resulting CBStrike output to independent calculations. All CBStrike outputs potentially affected by changes in individual input parameter values were included in the comparison to independent calculations. The CBStrike outputs from each test matched the results from independent calculations. Hence, all tests of individual inputs demonstrate that CBStrike is operating as intended and that all calculations are performed correctly.
