AHPCRC (Army High Performance Computing Rsearch Center) Bulletin. Volume 1, Issue 4

Abstract

The Army High Performance Computing Research Center, a collaboration between the U.S. Army and a consortium of university and industry partners, develops and applies high performance computing capabilities to address the Army s most difficult scientific and engineering challenges. AHPCRC also fosters the education of the next generation of scientists and engineers including those from racially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the fundamental theories and best practices of simulationbased engineering sciences and high performance computing. AHPCRC consortium members are: Stanford University, High Performance Technologies Inc., Morgan State University, New Mexico State University at Las Cruces, the University of Texas at El Paso, and the NASA Ames Research Center. Articles in this issue include topics on: computational nano-and biotechnologies; dispersion of biological warfare agents in attack zones; micro-and nanofluidic simulations for BWA sensing and blood additive development; antimicrobial peptides for nanoengineered active coatings; protein structure prediction for virus particles; how to build a virus (structure); nanomechanics of metal plasticity of thin films and cylinders and various articles on AHPCRC education.
