A Technical Approach to Expedited Processing of NTPR Radiation Dose Assessments

Abstract

This report describes the technical bases of an updated methodology that can be used in expedited processing of radiation dose assessments (RDA) for the Nuclear Test Personnel Review (NTPR) Program. The report defines the approach employed for selecting expedited processing groups (EPG), discusses the technical methods and assumptions used for estimating "maximized doses" and upper bound doses for each EPG, and summarizes the results of the dose assessment analyses. The detailed descriptions of each proposed EPG and its associated doses are contained in a separate volume--The Compendium of Expedited Processing Groups (DTRA-TR-11-01). The evaluation of the currently-used methods and technical basis of NTPR expedited processing of RDAs is documented in an interim report--Development of Radiation Doses to Support Expedited Processing of NTPR Dose Assessments, Pilot Phase Interim Report (NTPR-TM-10-03).
