Ballast Water Self Monitoring

Abstract

Because EPA plans to reissue the Vessel General Permit (VGP), the Agency continues gathering information on vessel wastewater sources while examining treatment technologies that can be used before discharge into waters of the United States. This document contains updated information on both recent developments in ballast water treatment technologies and the monitoring requirements to verify ballast water treatment systems are functioning properly.
