Acquisition Workforce Strategy: The Challenge Department of Defense (DoD) Faces to Improve its Acquisition Workforce

Abstract

The objective of this project is to examine the Department of Defense's (DoD's) FY 2010 Acquisition Workforce Improvement Strategy. The project will outline developments that generated the need for DoD's Acquisition Workforce Improvement Strategy and DoD's efforts to address its acquisition workforce's ability to manage and oversee its services contracts. This project also will examine the implementation and effectiveness of DoD's Acquisition Workforce improvement initiatives to see if plans will meet intended higher-level directives. The results of this project will enhance acquisition personnel's understanding of the DoD's Acquisition Workforce Improvement Strategy and the initiatives that impact the acquisition workforce.
