UGV Interoperability Profile (IOP) Communications Profile, Version 0

Abstract

This document defines the interfaces and attributes of the communications link to be used on Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs). For the purposes of Version 0 (V0) of this document, only the point-to-point interface between the Operator Control Unit (OCU) and the robotic platform/ UGV will be described. The intent of this document is to allow for a wide variety of product differentiation that can be adapted to multiple applications and usage models under the control of Robotic System Joint Project Office (RS JPO). It is not the intention of this document to provide all requirements necessary, but to provide standard interfaces for the components to be designed around. This document is developed and managed by the RS JPO, with inputs and assistance from industry and other Government organizations. This document serves as an interface agreement between the UGV provider(s) and its interfacing radio provider(s), and is maintained and controlled by the RS JPO.
