Environmental Assessment (EA): Proposed Rail Spur, Utah Test And Training Range

Abstract

Hill Air Force Base (AFB) proposes to construct a 14.6-mile long rail spur connecting the main railroad line at Lakeside, Utah to the missile storage area (MSA) at Oasis, Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), in the North Range area. A transfer station would also be constructed, where missile motors would be moved from rail cars to trailers. The findings of this EA indicate that the proposed action would not have significant adverse effects on the human environment or any of the environmental resources as described in the EA. Therefore, it is concluded that a Finding of No Significant Impact is justified.
