To advance the state of the art for Thermal Microwave Sterilization (MWS) for pouches of individual combat rations while maintaining current shelf life: *improvements in the MWS process at Washington State University (WSU) and *improvements in the non-foil light barrier materials considered in the FY08 Printpack research.
