Multi-color Long Wavelength Infrared Detectors Based On III-V Semiconductors

Abstract

Several III-V semiconductor material systems were investigated for multi-color photodetectors taking into consideration the enhanced properties of low dimensional systems, such as InAs quantum dots and GaAs quantum rings. The emphasis was placed on detecting both interband and intersubband transitions that form the basis of may optoelectronic devices. The research performed under this grant made it possible to investigate the new nanomaterial systems with properties covering the near infrared and visible spectral ranges. Devices were fabricated and tested.
