The Third Reich's Macroeconomic Policies: Enablers of Genocide

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify relationships between Nazi macroeconomic policies and their ability to enable genocide. The study uses primary source documentation from newspapers, historical documents, and other published works to examine Nazi ideology as it related to economic and macroeconomic policies before and during World War II. Accompanying this research is an analysis of steps the United States could have taken to stop or deter Nazi economic policies using the Mass Atrocities Prevention and Response Handbook's economic planning guidance.
