Sensorimotor Integration of Antennal Positioning in Flying Insects

Abstract

This is the first annual report detailing work on the mechanosensory Boehm's bristles located on the base of the moth antennae that are responsible for mediating antennal positioning in the hawk moth Daphnis nerii. The report also outlines experiments to show how insect antennal muscles are also influenced by visual inputs.
