Novel Heterongineered Detectors for Multi-Color Infrared Sensing

Abstract

The goal of this project was to realize multicolor detectors using InAs/GaSb/AlGaSb strain layer superlattices (SLS). The program has been very successful both on the technical aspects of the projects and the personnel aspects of the projects. Several publications including one in Nature and one in Nature Communications have been published using funding from this project. One doctoral student, Dr. Arezou Khoshakhlagh, has defended her PhD and is now a full time staff member at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. One more student, Mr. Vince Cowan, who works at the Air Force Research Laboratory is completing his PhD on barrier devices based on Type II superlattices.
